Adding a Manager to Your YouTube Brand Account

Here's how to add a manager to your YouTube Brand Account so that they can live stream on your channel using Ecamm.

Updated this week

In order to allow for multiple team members to use Ecamm Live to live stream to your YouTube channel, you must make sure that you:

a) Have a YouTube Brand Account.

b) Are using YouTube's Brand Account permissions (and not the channel permissions in YouTube Studio)

Anyone listed as a manager or owner on your Brand Account in YouTube will be able to use Ecamm to live stream to the channel.

If your YouTube permissions are showing up in YouTube Studio and not in YouTube Brand Account, you'll need to switch back to Brand Account permissions in order for team members to stream to the channel using Ecamm.

Here’s how to change your YouTube Brand Account permissions if you you have permissions showing up in YouTube Studio.

  1. Sign into YouTube as the Primary Owner of the channel’s Brand Account.

  2. Go to YouTube Studio (studio.youtube.com).

  3. In the left menu, click Settings, then select Permissions.

  4. Click the option to “Opt out of permissions in YouTube Studio.” This will return management back to the Brand Account.

  5. Once reverted, re-add any team members (Owners, Managers, etc.) via the Brand Account’s “Manage permissions” interface, the same way you previously did via Brand Account roles.
