Why am I being asked to “Allow ‘Ecamm’ to find devices on local networks”?

macOS Sequoia (15.0) introduces a new permission that Ecamm needs for certain network features

Updated today

macOS Sequoia (15.0) introduces a new permission that Ecamm needs for features such as:

  • NDI

  • Network Cameras ( via RTSP )

  • Stream Deck support (via the Ecamm Stream Deck plugin)

The following message should come up when launching Ecamm on Sequoia:

Please choose “Allow” when prompted, or these features will not work properly.

If you’ve seen this prompt and have already chosen “Don’t Allow”, you can grant this permission by enabling the toggle next to Ecamm in the Privacy & Security control panel of your Mac’s System Settings application. You can find this under “Local Network” once you have selected Privacy & Security from the left.
