Using HTML Code in a Widget Overlay

You can add HTML code as a local HTML file, and then drag it into Ecamm!

Widget overlays are a great way to embed dynamic content in your stream or recording by providing a URL.

However, you may need to add content in the form of an HTML code snippet rather than a URL. For example, a stock ticker using a service such as TradingView.

To add HTML code as a widget:

  1. Copy the HTML code.

  2. Paste it into a text file. We strongly recommend using a text editor such as BBEdit to do this. Do not use Apple's TextEdit app for this. TextEdit makes it very tricky to save a plain text file.

  3. Save the file anywhere on your Mac. Ensure that it has a .html file extension. Ensure that the file is plain text.

  4. Drag the HTML file into your Ecamm Live scene and it will be added as a widget.

5. If you want the widget to show up in all of your scenes, drag the overlay to the SHOW IN ALL SCENES section of the Overlays window.
